England.
That champagne land wrapped safe in her dark sea's charms,
Where flowing history has hewn her farms and towns,
And bound me with the music of waiting arms and downs,
Then sailed me to heaven's brink with a song that kissed my heart,
And made me a prisoner of content with her familiar art,
That jailed me in rest, liberated from my other Edans quest.
Alan de Norville.
Oh, to be in England Now that April's there
And whoever wakes in England Sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough In England--now!
Robert Browning 1812 - 1889
